Hi sweet friends, welcome back!
Today’s post is all about SHELVES…I don’t know about you guys, but shelves can be tricky sometimes! I have always struggled with our entertainment center shelves, so I thought it would be nice to share some tips and tricks for styling shelves that I’ve learned through the years and share with ya’ll some of my favorite pieces to use in shelves.
- Start with a clean slate. Remove everything you have from all your shelves. It’s so much easier to get an idea of where you want things when you are starting fresh.
- Organize everything first. Start grouping things by the same color or tone. That way you have an idea of what you have and which items need to be grouped together or spread out.
- Use variation. You don’t want each shelf to have the same number of items and you want to use objects that vary in size. Spread things of the same color and tone out.
- Adjust as needed. Step back from time to time to see what you are missing and switch things around till everything flows and feels cohesive.
Shelves can be tricky, but just take your time and adjust as needed. I use a lot of books, vases, baskets and candlesticks in my shelves. So I wanted to share some of my favorites to help make shelf styling a little bit easier!
