S P R I N G + Valentine Mantle Inspo

Happy February, friends!

The most loved/hated month of the year has officially arrived & if you’re anything like me you’re currently wondering where in the world January went…2018 ain’t messin’ around ya’ll! But I have to admit I am so excited for this month, I mean what girl doesn’t love the excuse to decorate their entire house in all things PINK?! I know I do. I mean let’s be real, if I’m being honest I started bringing out the pink l o n g before most people had even taken down their Christmas trees, okay.

I couldn’t help myself, as much as I have been loving all this cold weather Florida has been gracing us with, I have been dreaming of Spring for months. Now, this is only my second year decorating our house for Valentine’s day & last year I went very tradition with lots of red. Well I wanted to change things up this year. After all the chaos of the holidays I have been craving simplicity, not just in life but especially in our home. I wanted the Valentine’s decor to be subtle and transition almost effortlessly into Spring.

One of my favorite places to decorate in our home is our “faux” fireplace mantle. If you follow me on Instagram I’m sure you’ve seen how often I switch things around and change things out on our mantle. But I have finally settled on a couple looks that I just love and keep coming back to. So for this post I thought it would be fun to show ya’ll two different options for incorporating some fun spring touches with a hint of valentine’s to your home!

Option 1:

How cute is that little greenhouse planter box?! I’m obsessed! Loving this option because it is great for those who lean more towards incorporating some texture and dimension. I love this look because it doesn’t feel to “matchy matchy“. When I think of Spring I think of lots of greenary & keeping a space very light and bright.

Blush has been my go to this year, it’s the perfect color for a neutral Valentines’s day pallet, but also works great for spring! It’s a win, win. I get to have pink all over our house & keep it around even when Valentine’s day is over because I get to use the excuse it’s my spring decor too…my husband is just thrilled! LOL

Option 2:

I love these vases I picked up 50% off from Hobby lobby. They just scream spring to me. This look is perfect for those who crave that sense of simplicity and balance. I have to admit one of the hardest things I struggle with when decorating a space is fighting the urge to have everything symmetrical. Well, as you can see I didn’t resist that urge with this look. And I’m sure there are those out there looking at this option, just cringing…and that’s okay. That’s the thing about your style, it’s yours. There are some days when I’m all about option 1 & then there are some days when the simplicity of option 2 speaks to me. It’s funny to me that sometimes even the mood I’m in can play into how I decorate.

Keep in mind too that these looks don’t have to be strictly for a mantle…these options work great for a entry table or even a dresser or floating shelf!

So which option are you more drawn too? Leave a comment below & let me know!

Happy decorating,
