Who doesn’t dream of their very own cozy, little nest to curl up in with a good book? I know I do. I love creating little spaces in our home that just have that touch of warmth & cozyness to them. Spaces that when you walk into a room make you feel like you are, home.
One thing I absolutely loved about our master bedroom when we first moved in was all the extra space! As much as I love all the extra space, I wasn’t used to it and sometimes I struggled with knowing what to do with it all. We have this corner in our master bedroom that has just been missing something since we’ve moved it. It’s not really big enough for a big piece of furniture, but it’s big enough to make the space feel empty. So, what better way to fill this empty space than to create a “cozy” little nook.
It’s crazy to me how the sometimes the simplest details can make such a big difference. I was lucky too, I was able to throw together this cozy corner mostly from things I had laying around the house.
The first piece I started with was the white wicker chair. This chair actually used to be in my husbands bedroom growing up at his parents house, and was dark brown in it’s previous life. A couple cans of white spray paint and we now had the perfect chair for this space that matched the rest of our white bedroom furniture.
For those of you who know me or who have been following my blog know that I am always looking for any excuse for a gallery wall…even if it is a mini one like this one. I don’t discriminate I love all kinds of gallery walls, big or small!
Most of these pieces I already had, they just didn’t have a designated “home” until, now. I started with the wall on the left. I didn’t want to have too much going on, on this wall considering there is a window just to the left of this picture and I didn’t want it to be too busy since I have a couple more pieces on the wall on the right.
Our engagement picture canvas was given to me as a bridal shower gift and it has always been one of my favorite pieces. So I knew it would have a special place in my cozy corner.
Once I gathered up everything grey & burlap I had laying around, my mini gallery wall came together like that! The burlap & grey cross canvas was a sweet gift from my mom that she made herself, so I knew it needed a special place in our home! It was the perfect touch of grey & burlap and just tied everything together so nicely!
Now that the gallery wall was done I just threw in a lantern & a decorative little throw pillow and they were the final touches that this corner was missing! I was shocked at how quickly this little corner nook came together & even happier with how little I spent to create this space.
I am quickly learning it’s not about how much money you put into your home. Everything doesn’t have to be brand new & “perfect“. I have learned its the old, the new, the used, the collected, the made, the diy, the worn, but l o v e d things in our home that make it our very own fairy tale home.
Happy Decorating, friends!
Lots of love,
